Where to Go in Germany
The Town Centre of Erfurt Germany

The Thuringian state capital of Erfurt is not, strictly speaking, part of the Rennsteig, but you should make the detour – under an hour or so – when you are hiking in the area. Enjoy its old world cafes and shops.
The historical town centre has been meticulously restored, and since Erfurt was safely tucked away behind the Iron Curtain when the craze for cheap concrete-and-glass architecture laid much of Western Germany to waste in the 1950s and 1960s, it gives you views that you cannot experience in any other German city.

I agree with Debbie. Cool picture and a good idea.
This seems to be a favourite motif of my wife, who took this picture.
Very interesting picture with the old building being reflected in the glass of the new building.
