Easy Hiker is Michael and Marlys Schuermann
Ever since we as a family started hiking on our holidays, we have been trying to persuade all of our friends to take up easy hiking themselves. Now we have turned our attention to you.
Our aim here is to feature a variety of easy hikes that 1.) we’ve chosen and done ourselves for you to try and enjoy and 2) easy hikes that others sharing our liking for hiking consider to be trails worthy to be discovered by others.
Hopefully, the trails featured here would help you, Easy Hikers, choose your trails wisely so you get the best bang for your time and money.
I, Michael, have lived as a journalist in London and Paris since the mid 1980s. I’ve worked for the BBC World Service and as a sportscaster for a string of TV stations.
More recently, I have written a book about my adopted home town (“Paris Movie Walks”) for a US publisher.
Marlys is my long suffering wife. Together, we have spent nearly all of our holidays in the past few years hiking, sometimes with or sometimes – and increasingly so – without our son, Josh, now 23.
