A Walk by the Canal Ourq of Paris
SONG LYRICS
(What it says, roughly)
Du lundi jusqu’au samedi,
Pour gagner des radis,
Quand on a fait sans entrain
Son boulot quotidien,
Subi le propriétaire,
Le percepteur, la boulangère,
Et trimballé sa vie de chien,
Le dimanche vivement
On file à Nogent,
Alors brusquement
Tout paraît charmant!
(From Monday to Saturday, we work routinely like dogs to earn our keep. But on a Sunday, a walk by a river – in this video, a walk by the Canal Ourq of Paris – can instantly turn our grey lives rosy.)
Quel renouveau…
Paris au loin nous semble une prison,
On a le coeur plein de chansons.
(Everything seems charming when walking along a river, reinvigorating and mood lifting. Far off Paris seems like a prison in comparison.)
L’odeur des fleurs
Nous met tout à l’envers
Et le bonheur
Nous saoule pour pas cher.
(The smell of flowers intoxicates our senses. That giddy feeling of contentment you will get will not cost you a penny.)
(Worries and problems of the previous week, all drowned in the blue and in the green on a walk by the river..).
(A Sunday walk along a river, to the accompaniment of bird song, is enough to brighten all your days.)

Love that music and thinking a Sunday walk along the Seine sounds like a pretty perfect day.
Lovely, can’t think of much better action that wandering along the banks of the Seine!
We plan on visiting Paris in 2012 and this posting has me really getting anxious to go lol… Love the song and the video

Mais, bien sur, mon vieux!
Merci beaucoup.
(Not sure if my comment went through before, so sorry if this is a duplicate.)
Loved the video — watched it twice. I think I’d like to listen to that song while I took this walk.
